This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in catastrophe modelling and reinsurance analytics, with hands on training, structured development, and exposure to a wide range of client and market activities.You will contribute to delivering high quality analyses and supporting the development of innovative analytics capabilities. Working alongside experienced modellers, brokers, and research experts, you’ll gain insight into how catastrophe models and other tools are used and developed to help clients understand and manage their risk. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the delivery of catastrophe modelling analyses for reinsurance placements, portfolio reviews, and client advisory work. Assisting in the development and maintenance of modelling workflows, processes, and reporting tools. Helping prepare clear and concise analytics submission packs that communicate key insights. Contributing to quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across deliverables. Learning to interpret and present model outputs to internal stakeholders such as brokers and senior analysts as well as directly to clients. Working with the Willis Research Network’s Model Research Team to understand model updates and emerging research. Providing support for clients’ regulatory and internal reporting requirements (e.g., Solvency II, Lloyd’s RDS). Staying curious about new tools, technologies, and methodologies that can enhance our analytics offering. About You Essential: A degree in a quantitative, analytical, scientific, or engineering discipline (e.g., Maths, Physics, Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geography, Data/Computer Science, Economics). Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data. An interest in natural hazards, risk, and the insurance and reinsurance industry. Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to different audiences. Willingness to learn catastrophe modelling software and new technical skills. Enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Desirable: Familiarity with SQL or another data manipulation language. Familiarity with data visualization tool like Tableau and/or PowerBI. Basic coding experience (Python, R, or similar). Exposure to GIS or geospatial data. Interest in automation, AI tools, or workflow optimisation. Awareness of reinsurance structures or financial risk concepts.
